Sushi Is Really Getting Better

Mom showed us the new pictures of Sushi in her new home and she really looks good.  Everyone asked me to ask Mom if Sushi misses us.  She said that we had to remember that Sushi was really sick.  There is no way of knowing if she even remembers us.  But if she does remembers us – and misses us, that her new mommy would have explained to her, that we all especially dad, wanted her to come home.  But even if Dad did not want to believe it, we all knew that she was better off with her angel on earth because she is trained to  take care birdies who were as sick as Sushi was.

The best was that she works for our vet and she is just a telephone call away if Sushi needed him.    We can get mom or dad to call her to ask her to tell Sushi HI her other feathered brothers and sisters, and me Princess Penny.  Her new mommy keeping us all up-to-date with her progress by posting new pictures of her.  Her new mom’s name is Sue.    Mom said that she will find out what her son and husband’s name is.  Mom also said that Sue has a whole lot more feathered brothers and sisters to keep Sushi company and happy.

I have been talking to mom that we want to see what STUFF is out there that mom can put on my site,  STUFF that we (me a loyal Beagle and my feathered brothers and sisters),  would Want and Need. Buy Accutane   Hopefully there will be others who will want to get their pets the same.  Mom is looking into it with us, so it won’t be much longer.

Until next time, Woof Woof

So glad to hear Sushi is doing so much better now.
I know you miss her terrribly.

  2. Teresa have a check run on all meds/vitamins you give your birds. I lost tow because of bad lot. Not good to see two birds so ill like this and come close to losing sushi too. I would be paranoid.

Thank you Fran for your comment. Sushi is doing much better, though she no longer lives with us. As the articles talks about syringe feeding – we just were not experienced enough. Sue, who works with our vet, has taken in a number of rescues, particularly those who maybe medically challenged.

Sue offered to have us take her back when she was progressing in her healing, though she had never offered to do that for anyone else once a bird was signed over to her. She kept her a couple more weeks, then Roger decided since Sushi was bonding with Sue’s son and husband, that she should stay where she was at.

And we are ok with that. Sue posts pics of her and keeps us updated. As mentioned she is one of the Techs at our Vets’ office.

Diego passed because of a respiratory infection. Sushi ordeal was due to a grooming incident, which caused her to have a stroke and then have seizures.

But all is turning out well.

Hi Teresa and Roger, just wanted you both to know that Sushi is doing very well. Over time and watching her, and the things she is able to do, which is just about everything now, that her stroke and seizures were not from the grooming after all. She has a brain tumor. She started doing some head pressing a while back, and talking to Dr Gulliford about the things she was doing it pointed to a tumor. She is doing well don’t get me wrong, how long she will be with us depends on the growth of the tumor, we don’t even know how long its been there, more than likely years, and it was getting larger. I know when it is bothering her when she head press’s. For now all I can do is love her and let life take its course, she plays eats like a pig and just loves my husband Ron. Sushi can live for years to come with this, so its not like I am going to lose her any time soon, sorry I don’t has any pictures of her right now, things have been a little nuts around here. Once things quite down I will post new pic’s.
As to why did she start to have seizures when she was being groomed that day and then have a stroke, stress. The stress of being groomed set them off, the groomer didn’t cause them to happen on prepuce. I try to keep her as stress free as possible, needless to say I don’t think she will ever have her wings cut again, as for her nails time will tell. Right now she gets all the toys and food and loving she can handle which is a lot.

Thank you so much for your post. Roger and I appreciate knowing that she is still with us (you). The knowledge of her having a tumor is so shocking. I know that no one could have known about this. Fortunately being a vet tech you knew what to look for and then ask the doctor. Again we thank you for being the person you are and the person with the kind of heart to take her in when we had no idea what to do for her. We look forward to seeing new pics when you are able.

Penny asks that you give her a kiss for her too! Woof Woof
